Terror & Tears

Chapter 25

While Dianna slept, Tracey started to think of all the things she had done in her short life. She decided that if she was going to die, she would do it with her head held high. She would look her adversity in the face so to speak, and not die in fear. Well TRY not to die in fear. It seemed like weeks that she had been in this terribly dark place. It didn’t help that when she slept it was restless and full of nightmares. The dark was a cruel deceiver of time and every noise she heard, she imagined into large scary things. She couldn’t help but hear the whispers every time she closed her eyes. It got to the point where Tracey finally held her hands to her ears and shouted as loud as she could,

“SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!”

Dianna woke up in a start, grabbing at Tracey, trying to calm her down. Dianna finally got Tracey to stop yelling. There was nothing either of them could do until they got out of this dark place. Dianna stroked Tracey’s hair until she stopped sobbing and started to calm down and fall back into a terror filled sleep.

The door opened and the girls knew that one of them was leaving. Tracey held onto Dianna for dear life. The Whisperer came down the stairs and was spouting the same familiar passage. The Whisperer walked back up the stairs, leaving the two girls in terror.
